The future profitability of a start-up, personal liability and tax liability of a company are determined to a high degree by the choice of entity, establishment of employee policies, initial real estate transactions, licensing and other matters that need to be addressed. A Family Limited Partnership (FLP)

A family limited partnership can be a valuable estate planning tool, allowing the owner of a large estate to pass a family farm or business on to heirs often without payment of federal gift or inheritance taxes. When property is transferred into the trust, it can be devalued (since it can no longer be sold). Annual transfers of FLP shares can then be made to heirs.

If you would like to discuss business formation or formation of a family limited partnership, please call 610-444-3737 or e-mail our Kennett Square office to arrange a telephone consultation. You will usually be able to reach an attorney during business hours — if not, one of our lawyers will return your call or e-mail promptly. If we offer the service you need, we will be happy to discuss our fees and provide an estimate of the cost of representation. Otherwise, we will refer you to experienced lawyers that offer that assistance. We accept credit cards.
